United get their man
Wednesday, 25/05/2011
Manchester United are expected to announce the signing of £22m-rated keeper David de Gea on Monday.
Boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that negotiations are under way for the Atletico Madrid shot-stopper.
"He is young, very quick, good composure, presence and an outstanding replacement for Van der Sar," said the manager.
De Gea, a Spanish interntational, has kept 24 clean sheets in 45 games this campaign. He still has two years to run on his contract but that contains a buy-out clause.
The keeper admitted earlier this year that he was keen to leave Atletico despite the club wanting to offer him a new deal.
His arrival would almost certainly see the departure of Tomasz Kuszcak.
