Wenger: my future

Wenger: my future

Saturday, 19/11/2011

Arsene Wenger has spoken out to reassure Arsenal fans that he has got a future with the club.

In an interview with a French newspaper earlier in the day the Gunners boss suggested he would review his position with the club at the end of the season.

But after his team's 2-1 victory at Norwich City Wenger was at pains to stress that he would only be looking at his position if his side underperformed.

Wenger said: "I'm completely committed to my contract. On my side, I think I've always showed commitment to the club.

"The only way I would consider my future is if I don’t deliver what’s expected. If you love a club and don’t deliver, then you have to consider your future.

"I will always maintain that I am committed to the club and will always respect my contract. Unless I feel I am not good enough I will stay and that will always be the case."

After Arsenal's horrific start to the season many fans turned against the Frenchman and thought he had taken the club as fas as possible.

But many other Gunners felt Wenger had to be given time as he rebuilt the side after losing key players like Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and also having a number of players out injured.
