Premier League
DIRK KUYT, Liverpool
It doesn’t come much better for a Reds player than a hat-trick against arch-rivals Man United. They might have been simple goals, but hard-working Kuyt rose to the occasion in the 3-1 victory and heightened his chances of winning at new Anfield contract.
Championship
JIMMY BULLARD, Ipswich
The on-loan midfielder showed that despite all of his recent injury problems he’s lost none of his drive and skills. Bully hit both goals as the Tractor Boys won 2-0 at promotion chasing Cardiff City.
Leagues 1 & 2
League One
RICHARD LEE, Brentford
The former Watford keeper started the season out-of-favour at Griffin Park but since playing his way into the side he’s proved why he should be at a higher level. The Bees lost 3-0 at Hartlepool but Lee was still their star man.
League Two
CLAYTON DONALDSON, Crewe
Three goals, one a twice-taken penalty, saw Donaldson help Alex to a 4-1 home win over struggling Burton Albion. It was the first hat-trick by a Crewe player this term and took his goals tally for the season to 19.
