Premier League
Marlon Harewood (Blackpool). Having fallen out of favour at Aston Villa, the burly forward jumped at the chance of regular football at Blackpool. Just two days after signing for the Tangerines, he bagged two goals on his debut to help his side to a famous 4-0 victory over Wigan in their first ever Premier League game.
Championship
Steve Morison (Millwall). Another man to grab two goals in a 4-0 win. Millwall have made a dream start to Championship life, putting three past Bristol City on the opening weekend of the season before going one better against promotion candidates Hull. The Lions now sit joint-top of the league following last year's play-off joy.
Leagues 1 & 2
LEAGUE ONE
Byron Anthony (Bristol Rovers). After Rovers had suffered a late equaliser at the hands of Yeovil, it looked like they'd thrown away two points. Anthony had other ideas, however, and the defender struck deep into injury time to secure a win.
LEAGUE TWO
Barry Roche (Morecambe). The Shrimps had their keeper to thank for their goalless draw against Rotherham, as a fine save to deny Kevin Ellison safeguarded an excellent point for Morecambe.
