Premier League
James Beattie (Stoke). Up for it as always, two goals, one from the spot, against luckless West Ham. Still a great piece of business bringing him back to the Premier League.
Championship
Dexter Blackstock (Nottingham Forest). Worked the solo striker role to perfection against Newcastle's makeshift centre-halves and caused trouble all game until he was taken off. Scored the only goal.
Leagues 1 & 2
LEAGUE ONE: Lee Barnard (Southens). In red-hot form, two more goals, this time against Bristol Rovers brought his tally to 12 in 16 games.
LEAGUE TWO: Kriss Taylor (Port Vale). Made one and scored the winner in the 2-1 victory at Crewe. His performance brought the offer of a new contract!

Newcastle missed their two experienced centre halves…
