Norwich City started April with what looked like a monumental 3-2 win against fellow relegation-threatened outfit, Newcastle United, at Carrow Road, but their month soon went downhill.

One of the stars of that victory against Rafa Benitez’s side was midfielder Jonny Howson, who assisted Dieumerci Mobokani’s goal, before also setting up Martin Olsson for his injury-time winner.

However, despite being buoyed by that results, the Canaries were beaten in all three of their remaining fixtures during the month, including a devastating 3-0 home defeat by fellow strugglers Sunderland, and 1-0 losses to Crystal Palace and Arsenal respectively.

With both Sunderland and Newcastle picking up more points than Alex Neil’s side in April, the Norfolk outfit now look to face an uphill task if they are to remain in the Premier League.
