Despite already bringing in ten new players to Villa Park this summer; Aston Villa still look lightweight up front if the Villans are to improve upon their disappointing campaign last season, where they staved off relegation by just three points.

Among those new acquisitions are Manchester City’s Scott Sinclair, Blackburn Rovers’ Rudy Gestede, Barcelona’s Adama Traore and Lorient’s Jordan Ayew; but manager Tim Sherwood could still do with bolstering his attacking options before the close of the transfer window.

One player that has been linked with a return to the Premier League is Gervinho. The former Arsenal striker scored a disappointing nine goals in 46 games for the Gunners during his two-year stay in the English top flight.

However, there is no doubting the Ivory Coast international’s ability, and he could prove to be an inspired buy if his manager shows confidence in him.

We desperately need a quality forward. If Gabby had stuck that one on one in at Palace when it was 0 – 0 we would probably be on 6 points now not 3. This is how it will be most games unless we get a quality proven scorer who is going to get goals otherwise another season of struggle.

sadly for Avfc we paid wasted money on Ayew , and could have got
Afobe , Austin, or even Gervinho . We are sadly weak in the goal keeping
Area . And have a manager who is lacking in tactical awareness .hes a novice
Manager with no cv . And a chairman who wants out. It’s a recipe of disaster
Waiting to happen, but like all one eyed dreamers ,we pray for divine intervention.
And hope God hears our cry.
