Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has told chairman Daniel Levy that he wants more control over transfer dealings at the club when head of recruitment Paul Mitchell leaves his post, according to reports from The Times.

The former Argentina international has reportedly told Levy not to find an immediate replacement for Mitchell, who is set to leave in December having handed in his notice earlier this season.

The former Southampton head of recruitment, who work with Pochettino on the South Coast, was said to be unhappy with the way things were working at White Hart Lane when they missed out on the now Chelsea striker, Michy Batshuayi.

Considering Spurs’ change in fortunes since the former Espanyol manager took over, Levy is more than likely to bend to his wishes and give the 44-year-old a bigger say in dealings.

Pochettino also seems to be getting his way when it comes to contract dealings as well, with top players such as Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Kyle Walker all penning new deals this season.
