Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino could engineer a reunion with former Southampton left-back Luke Shaw should Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola get his way.

According to reports from The Daily Mirror, the Sky Blues boss is looking to splash a whopping £50m on Spurs and England defender Danny Rose, as he begins to rejuvenate his back line this summer.

The current back four at The Etihad, specifically the full-backs, are not getting any younger with Bacary Sagna, Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy and Aleksander Kolarov all over the age of 30.

With such an offer on the line, it is likely Daniel Levy, with a new stadium to pay for, will turn down their approaches, meaning Pochettino will have some rebuilding to do.

United defender Shaw, who thrived under the guise of the Spurs manager on the south coast, has struggled since the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, with the former Chelsea boss publically criticising him earlier in the season.

With that Shaw still looking a way off a regular starting spot in the first team, his manager may well be looking for a solution this summer, and his rival across Manchester could well have given him the answer with his Spurs swoop.
