Leicester City increased their lead at the top of the table despite being held to a 2-2 draw by West Brom at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.

The home side fell behind after just 11 minutes through Salomon Rondon’s strike, but had the lead by half-time thanks to goals from Danny Drinkwater and Andy King. However Craig Gardner’s free-kick just five minutes into the second period pegged back the hosts and meant Albion have now lost just one of their last six outings, whereas Claudio Ranieri’s side went three points clear at the top.

Midfielder Drinkwater’s second Premier League goal of the season drew Leicester level at 1-1 against West Brom on Tuesday night.

The Foxes stretched their lead due to Tottenham losing 1-0 to West Ham at Upton Park. Michail Antonio’s header after just seven minutes was enough to secure a second 1-0 win of the week for the Hammers. The victory takes Slaven Bilic’s side to within a point of the top four, whilst defeat ends Spurs’ run of six straight wins.

Arsenal also failed to capitalise on Leicester’s draw as they were beaten 2-1 by Swansea City at the Emirates. A win looked on the cards when the Gunners took the lead through Joel Campbell after 15 minutes. But Wayne Routledge pulled the visitors level just after the half hour mark before Ashley Williams struck a winner from close-range after 74 minutes played. Arsene Wenger’s men stay third, now six points off the top, whereas the Swans move six points clear of the drop zone.

Manchester City’s faint title hopes took a severe blow as they were beaten 3-0 by Liverpool at Anfield. Two goals in seven minutes from Adam Lallana and James Milner late in the first-half put the Reds in control before Roberto Firmino sealed things just before the hour mark. The win takes Jurgen Klopp’s side up to eighth, whilst City stay fourth and have now lost their last three league games in a row.

Manchester United stayed in touch with the top four as they beat Watford 1-0 at Old Trafford. Juan Mata’s free-kick seven minutes from the end secured a vital win for the home side after David De Gea had kept them level with a number of crucial saves. United move level on points with rivals City, whereas the Hornets slip to 12th with one win in their last five fixtures.

Sunderland rescued a late point in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at the Stadium of Light. Dame N’Doye’s first goal for the club gave the home side the lead in the first-half before two Connor Wickham strikes in six minutes put the visitors ahead just after the hour. However Fabio Borini netted in stoppage time to steal a point and move out of the drop zone on goal difference, whilst Palace are 14th and without a win in 11 league games.

Norwich slipped into the bottom three after a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Carrow Road. Kenedy’s first Premier League goal had the Blues ahead after just 39 seconds before Diego Costa struck on the stroke of half-time. Nathan Redmond pulled one back for the Canaries but it wasn’t enough to prevent an eighth game without a win, whereas Chelsea move up to 10th with a third straight victory.

Aston Villa remain adrift at the bottom as they were beaten 3-1 by Everton at Villa Park. Ramiro Funes Mori headed in after five minutes before Aaron Lennon doubled the lead after just 30 minutes. Romelu Lukaku’s 17th strike of the season sealed the win in the second-half before Rudy Gestede’s consolation. The Toffees move up to 11th, whilst Villa remain eight points adrift at the bottom.

Stoke beat Newcastle 1-0 at the Britannia to leave the Magpies second bottom. Xherdan Shaqiri’s wonderful strike ten minutes from time was enough to take the Potters up to seventh with a third straight win, whereas Steve McLaren’s side have now lost four of their last five outings.

Bournemouth beat Southampton 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium to ease away from the bottom three. Steve Cook’s first-half strike put the Cherries ahead before Benik Afobe’s goal sealed the points ten minutes from time. The win takes Eddie Howe’s side eight points clear of the bottom three, whilst Saints drop to ninth after a second successive defeat.
