Rangers are reportedly closing in on a £500,000 deal for St Johnstone forward Michael O’Halloran, according to BBC Sport.

Saints had previously rejected a number of bids from the Scottish Championship leaders during this window, but it is now thought a fee of around £500,000 has been agreed between the two clubs, with the attacker set to undergo a medical on Monday evening.

The 25-year-old spent his youth career at Celtic before a spell in England with Bolton, and loan periods out at Sheffield United, Carlisle United and Tranmere Rovers.

The forward has made more than 100 senior appearances in his career to date, scoring 19 goals.
