Rangers are reportedly closing in on the £400,000 double signing of midfielders Josh Windass and Matt Crooks.

The Scottish Championship side, who top the table ahead of runners-up Falkirk by three points and a game in hand, are hopeful of completing the transfers of the Accrington Stanley duo this week.

Midfielder Matt Crooks started his youth career at Premier League side Manchester United.

Windass, 21, who is the son of former Aberdeen and Hull City forward Dean, has scored an impressive 11 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions for the League Two side this season.

Meanwhile Crooks, also 21, has scored seven goals and assisted a further two strikes in 24 games for Stanley this campaign.

It is understood that both of the midfielders are currently heading north to complete their medicals with the Ibrox outfit this afternoon.
