Manchester United are set to sign Colombia international star James Rodriguez this summer, according to Diario Gol.

The Premier League side, who visit the Etihad Stadium tonight to face arch rivals Manchester City in the top-flight, have been continuously linked with a move for the Real Madrid attacking midfielder ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

The 25-year-old, who has 54 international caps for his country, has scored nine goals and provided 13 assists in 29 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga giants so far this season.

Rodriguez, who arrived at the Bernabeu back in 2014 following his mega money move from AS Monaco following the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals, is understood to have his heart set on a summer switch to Old Trafford.

So much so, the report suggests the Colombian forward has set up an agreement with his agent, Jorge Mendes, to ensure he secures a transfer to The Red Devils later this year.

Rodriguez has netted 34 times in 107 games for Madrid overall, winning the UEFA Champions League, two UEFA Super Cups and two FIFA Club World Cups.
