Bosnia and Herzegovina international defender Sead Kolasinac will reportedly join Arsenal on July 1, according to Sky Sports News HQ.

The Premier League side, who have climbed up to fifth spot in the top-flight standings after thrashing Stoke City 4-1 at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday, have already wrapped up their first summer signing ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

The 23-year-old, who has 18 international caps for his country, has scored three goals and provided nine assists in 36 appearances in all competitions for Bundesliga outfit Schalke so far this season.

Left-back Kolasinac, who will move to the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer upon the expiry of his current deal with the German club, has netted four times in 123 games overall for The Royal Blues since making his debut against Greuther Furth back in September 2012.

The Bosnian full-back will become Gunners boss Arsene Wenger’s first signing of the forthcoming transfer window, despite the Frenchman’s own future in North London still not confirmed.

Arsenal lie three points adrift of a top four finish in the Premier League this campaign, and play Sunderland and Everton in their final league fixtures.
