Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly joined Leeds United in the race to sign Watford forward Fernando Forestieri.

The Italian, who started in the club’s Capital One Cup defeat at Preston on Tuesday, is set to leave Vicarage Road in search of regular first-team football, and the £3m-rated attacker is attracting the interest of the Championship duo.

Both United and Wednesday have already shown they aren’t afraid to spend big with the respective signings of Chris Wood and Marco Matias this summer.

Forestieri made 26 appearances in all competitions as the Hertfordshire-based outfit secured promotion to the Premier League last term, scoring five goals and providing six assists.

Ha ha ha, that is hilarious as if the Wendies could ever compete with Leeds. They can have him if they want him but he doesn’t want to move oop North.

    • Hi Ropey,It will be interesting if he accepts Wendies offer considering he doesn’t want to come to us.I’m still trying to work out where we would put him if he did come
