La Liga side Sevilla are reportedly interested in England striker Andy Carroll.

The speculation comes as a surprise to most involved with West Ham United following the forward’s setback from a lengthy knee injury earlier this summer, meaning Carroll is unlikely to feature until after the international break.

The 26-year-old, who has nine international caps, scored just five goals in 16 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers last season.

However, it is understood that the UEFA Europa League champions and UEFA Super Cup winners Sevilla are interested in acquiring the West Ham centre forward ahead of this weekend’s opening round of fixtures in the Spanish top-flight.

Yes of course that is going to happen. Even on planet Zog it would be difficult to imagine a perenially injured striker going to Spain leaving his present club needing 3 strikers in a week rather than the desired 2 and likely 1 they are desperately attempting to get at present.
