Southampton have reportedly joined the chase to sign England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Premier League side, who came back from two goals down to thrillingly defeat Liverpool 3-2 at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday, are one of several potential suitors wanting to recruit the Arsenal midfielder once the current 2015-16 campaign has concluded.

The 22-year-old; who has 22 international caps for his country, but is a doubt to make the Three Lions’ Euro 2016 squad later this year, has scored two goals and provided two assists in 33 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners so far this season,

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who arrived at the Emirates Stadium from the Saints back in August 2011 in a deal worth up to £15m, is also reportedly attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

The England winger has grown frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities under boss Arsene Wenger, with the ex-Southampton star starting just nine Premier League fixtures this term.
