Sunderland have reportedly made Borussia Dortmund forward Adrian Ramos their number one transfer target on deadline day.

The Premier League club have identified the Colombia international as the ideal striker to help the Black Cats stave off relegation and improve upon last year’s 16th place finish.

The 29-year-old, who has 35 international caps to his name, scored six goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit last season.

Recent reports in Germany suggest that Sunderland were in negotiations with Dortmund over a fee of £7m for Ramos and were prepared to offer the frontman a three-year deal.

Black Cats boss Dick Advocaat has also announced his intentions of acquiring some defensive reinforcements on loan before the transfer window closes tomorrow at 6pm.
