David Moyes may well be Sunderland manager next season but he’s going to have to do a lot to get the fans on board with him.

The Sunderland boss headed straight down the tunnel after Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Swansea City.

It’s been a disastrous season for the Black Cats who’ve failed to mount any realistic relegation fight and been rooted to the bottom of the table for practically the entire campaign.

Moyes recently claimed he needed an entire new squad to achieve promotion next season but for many fans it’s the manager not just the players who need changing.

At the final whistle at the Stadium of Light yesterday there was no attempt to acknowledge the fans, by Moyes which has only added to the supporters ire who feel the former Everton and Manchester United boss simply doesn’t get how important it is to have a rapport with the Sunderland faithful.

Fans took to social media to vent their anger at Moyes’s snub:

I’ve never hated a Sunderland manager before. But the absolute hemorrhoid that is David Moyes makes me angry. Sucked the life from #SAFC

Disgraceful David Moyes. Confirmed your place as manager for next year and fled down that tunnel at full time. Shameful.

I honestly haven’t seen one positive thing from Moyes to suggests he will bring stability or promotion to @SunderlandAFC.
