7. Southend 1-0 Man United – 4th Round 2006

Man United were the League Cup holders at the time but that didn’t stop Southend from dumping them out of the competition as soon as they entered it. What a goal it was as well that sent them out – Freddy Eastwood took a free-kick from 30 yards out and sent it flying past keeper Tomasz Kuszczak. Add in the fact that the Red Devils had both Rooney and Ronaldo on the pitch, it’s certainly a game that Southend fans will always remember.
