Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy turns 58 today so, before anything else, Happy Birthday from everyone at Shoot!

The former Wolves and Ireland boss has graced the management game for a quarter of a century now, beginning at Millwall in 1992, and has been extremely good value for his 25 years at the helm of various clubs and at international level.

The Yorkshire-born defender racked up nearly 60 appearances for the Republic of Ireland and, whilst in the hot seat, was famous for sending home star man Roy Keane on the eve of the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan.

Mick has given us some golden moments over his years in managements, from being terrified by absolutely nothing…

To melting the hearts of women across the nation…

Whilst the Tractor Boys boss has become perfect GIF and meme fodder on social media, he still comes up with some absolute crackers in press conferences and after matches.

To celebrate his birthday, we thought we’d share the TOP FIVE quotes from the great man, take a look…
