Manchester United have identified England international defender Danny Rose as a potential summer transfer target, according to the Daily Star.

The Premier League side, who suffered a 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane on Sunday, have been linked with a move for the Tottenham Hotspur left-back ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

The 26-year-old, who has 12 international caps for the Three Lions, has scored two goals and provided four assists in 21 appearances in all competitions for Spurs so far this season.

Rose, whose 2016-17 term has been hampered by hamstring and knee injuries respectively, joined the North London outfit back in July 2007 from Leeds United.

Valued at around £30m, the report suggests Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is keen on luring the pacey full-back to Old Trafford this summer, and is ready to double his wages as a result.

However, the United manager may face stiff competition from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for his services.
