Tottenham have reportedly signed Spain Under-21 international goalkeeper Pau Lopez, according to Pete O’Rourke.

The Premier League side, who drew 1-1 against Liverpool at the weekend to sit seventh in the English top-flight standings after three matches, have been linked with luring the Espanyol shot stopper to White Hart Lane before the close of the summer transfer window tonight (11:00pm).

The 21-year-old, who made his international debut against Norway back in March, kept seven clean sheets in 38 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit last season.

Spurs are set to pay £500,000 to take the goalkeeper on loan initially until the end of the 2016/17 campaign, with an option to sign Lopez permanently for £6m next summer, according to the Evening Standard.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has pursued the Spaniard after injury to regular number one Hugo Lloris, who picked up a hamstring injury against Everton on the opening day of the season, ruling him out for around four weeks.
