Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal go to German champions Bayern Munich on Wednesday (7.45pm kick-off) for the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.

The Gunners have fallen at this stage of the competition in each of the last six seasons, and two of those have been to Bayern, having lost in both 2013 and 2014 to the Bundesliga champions.

However, Wenger’s men won their group this term with four wins and two draws, piping French giants Paris Saint-Germain to first place, although they weren’t particularly rewarded for doing so, given that Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern were one of a few big name sides to finish second in their group.

Nonetheless, the five-times European Cup winners are in fine form once again after a sluggish start to the campaign, as they lead the Bundesliga by seven points, and haven’t lost at home in any competition this term.

Their last defeat at the Allianz Arena came back in March last year, when Mainz produced a stunning 2-1 upset, and they’ll once again go in as favourites against Arsenal on Wednesday.

However, the Gunners have tasted success in Munich, having won there back in 2013, and Wenger may be tempted to make a few changes to the side that struggled past Hull on Saturday.

Thus, here are THREE players who deserve a chance against Bayern on Wednesday…
