West Brom are reportedly ready to launch a £7m bid for Championship defender Charlie Taylor, according to the Daily Star.

The Premier League side, who suffered a 2-1 home defeat to the hands of Everton in the English top-flight at the weekend, have been linked with a move for Leeds United’s highly-rated full-back before the close of the summer transfer window on August 31.

The 22-year-old, who is a former England Under-19 international, has featured five times in all competitions for Garry Monk’s side so far this season.

Taylor, who is also said to be attracting interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Middlesbrough, has just one year left on his current deal at the Elland Road outfit.

The left-back has already had a transfer request rejected by the club, with new boss Monk desperate to keep hold of his prized asset, although Baggies boss Tony Pulis is ready to test Leeds’ resolve with a £7m offer.
