West Brom are ready to test Watford’s nerve by tabling a £25m bid for Troy Deeney.

According to a report in The Sun the Baggies are also ready to offer the player £100,000/week to return to the Midlands.

Earlier in the week it was reported that Watford had put a £35m price tag on the player but it’s likely that his current wages are closer to £50,000/week rather than £100,000/week.

Deeney signed a five year contract in January 2016 but that will almost certainly need to be reviewed if Watford reject the offer from Albion.

Tony Pulis is determined to land a striker capable of hitting 15 Premier League goals per season to give his side the edge that they are missing.

Salomon Rondon was the top Premier League scorer with just eight goals, finding a striker that could double that tally could have put West Brom into contention for a Europa League place.
