West Ham United have reportedly joined Leicester City in the race to sign Championship defender Tendayi Darikwa.

The Premier League clubs, who sit sixth and second in the current standings respectively, are thought to be readying January moves for the Burnley right-back.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Clarets from League One side Chesterfield in a deal thought to be worth just over £500,000 back in July, has scored one and assisted another goal in 21 league games for the Championship outfit this season.

Darikwa, who can also operate as a winger, is wanted by Hammers boss Slaven Bilic following the unimpressive form of Arsenal loanee Carl Jenkinson so far this campaign.
