John played for England, Liverpool, Tottenham, Wimbledon and Ipswich. Since hanging up his boots John has continued to work in the world of sport and with an impressive list of clients.

His work has included events for O2, Sony-Ericsson, PlayStation and Danone.

He has also worked with Juventus and Inter Milan.

Our man in the ground and watching TV

The boss has reported on football games since he was just 16 [although he won't let us tell you how long ago that was]. He's been to grounds at the very bottom of the football pyramid, is still a regular at Conference games, Championship and Premier League matches. He's admired the impressive arch of Wembley, the historic stands of Old Trafford, the daunting sights of St. James' Park and worried about some of the less-appealing sights of some older grounds! He also went to Barcelona...but got locked out of the Camp Nou due to torrential rain. Luckily he doesn't have to fight for control of the TV remote to watch games on the box - his wife watches too!

Supporting at the match or in front of the TV

Jon’s been a football fan for longer than he can remember, and a freelance writer, specialising in football, since 2005. He’s been lucky enough to interview a number of top players and managers including Ryan Giggs, Jermaine Jenas, Ben Foster and George Burley. A passionate supporter, Jon gets to matches when he can - but he’ll be in his armchair in front of the TV when he can’t get to a game. He’s had a coaching session with former Man United ace Brian McClair – and even got to play on the Old Trafford pitch!
