2 January signings that will make Tottenham’s season

Tottenham ended Chelsea’s 13-match winning streak in the Premier League with an excellent 2-0 success over Antonio Conte’s side on Wednesday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side convincingly beat Southampton and Watford over the Christmas period, and made it five wins in a row courtesy of a Dele Alli brace at White Hart Lane.

The victory means that Spurs are up to third in the table ahead of Manchester City and North London rivals Arsenal, and are now just seven points adrift of the Blues.

Tottenham have won 12 of their 20 matches this season, with home wins over City and now Chelsea indicative of their title credentials ahead of the second half of the campaign.

Although they struggled in Europe, and were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stages, Spurs have been difficult to break down in the league this season, and have a chance of ending their 56-year wait for a First Division title.

Nevertheless, Pochettino could look to add to his squad in this month’s transfer window in a bid to keep his side challenging for the title come May, something they were unable to do last time around.

Thus, here are TWO players that will make Tottenham’s season should they sign at White Hart Lane this season…

Bruma

Strength in depth in the attacking areas could come back to haunt Tottenham in the second half of the season, so Pochettino could look to add young, pacey wingers in a bid to bolster his options.

Thus, the Spurs boss could look at Galatasaray’s highly-rated midfielder Bruma this month.

The 22-year-old has scored five goals and laid on five assists for the Turkish giants in his 16 league matches to help the club to third place in the top-flight, and just three points off of top spot.

Recent reports suggest that the Portuguese Under-21 international could be on his way to White Hart Lane this month and, given Pochettino’s efforts with the likes of Dele Alli and Eric Dier, Spurs could be the perfect place for the young attacker to fulfil his undoubted potential.

Isco

Isco’s future at Real Madrid has been discussed for many a month now, and it could finally be resolved this month after much speculation.

The Spanish international has struggled to nail down a place in Zinedine Zidane’s first team in recent times, albeit has started a few games recently, and as such may be tempted by a move away.

The 24-year-old has been linked with the Premier League over the last few months, and Spurs are one club reportedly keeping tabs on Isco’s developing situation at the Bernabeu.

Undoubtedly, the midfielder would be an excellent signing for Spurs, as he can play anywhere across the midfield, and indeed in the more defensive role in front of the back four.

He’s a talented footballer who needs to be playing regularly to reach his full potential, and first team football is something he’d certainly get at Tottenham.
