3 Arsenal players who need to impress in Europa League match vs Molde

Arsenal recorded their third win in four matches on Sunday with a deserved 1-0 victory at Manchester United in the Premier League.

Now – back in Europa League action – Mikel Arteta will hope to see his side extend their 100% record in this competition as they take on Molde at the Emirates.

The Gunners have so far defeated Rapid Vienna and Dundalk, taking them to six points from a possible six – level with their Norwegian visitors.

With Aston Villa next to play in North London in just three days’ time, Arteta could once again look at shuffling his squad on Thursday night.

So who will potentially be given an opportunity to impress and, if so, which players should you be keeping an eye on..?

Here are our 3 Arsenal players to watch in Thursday’s Europa League match against Molde…

3. Shkodran Mustafi

A player that has looked close to leaving the Emirates in recent times now seems – for now – to be a part of Mikel Arteta’s plans. After returning from injury, the German came off the bench in the last two Premier League games and played an hour against Dundalk. Will now have his eyes on putting in a strong performance against Molde in an attempt to win his place back in the Premier League XI.

2. Granit Xhaka

The Swiss midfielder has been a key player since Arteta took over the side but, with Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny impressing in the win at Old Trafford, Xhaka will need to up his game if he wants to rise back up the pecking order once again. Is expected to start and captain the side against Molde so will be aiming to lead by example and catch the eye of his boss ahead of Sunday’s visit of Aston Villa.

1. Nicolas Pepe

Arsenal’s record-signing has still not really shown the huge talent he possesses on a consistent basis. However, after scoring a beauty in the win over Dundalk last week, the Ivory Coast international will again be given a chance to stake a claim for a Premier League starting berth in the Europa League. Although equipped with speed and great dribbling ability, Arteta will just want to see more of an end product so that he can rely on the 25-year-old week-in-week-out.
