3 Liverpool players that would walk into the Manchester United team

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have made a great start to the new Premier League season, and currently find themselves fourth in the table.

The Reds have won five of their first seven league matches, including impressive victories at Arsenal and Chelsea, with their only blemish coming at the hands of Burnley on the second weekend of the season.

Klopp’s side are just two points behind league leaders Manchester City, but three points clear of long-time rivals Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho’s men have had a solid if unspectacular start to the season, winning four of their seven games, but they did lose to neighbours City at Old Trafford last month.

However, there are players in the current Liverpool team which would hugely benefit the United starting eleven and would help strengthen their title challenge.

Here’s THREE Liverpool players that would walk into the United team…

Nathaniel Clyne

United appear to have a few issues in the right-back department, with Antonio Valencia their current first choice ahead of the completely out-of-favour Matteo Darmian.

It was an area Mourinho was looking to strengthen over the summer, but to no avail.

Although Valencia is a decent player, probably more so going forward than defensively, he’s not an out-and-out right-back, he’s a midfielder, and that could become a problem as the season wears on.

Nathaniel Clyne, however, is a right-back by trade. And a very good one.

The England international has adapted brilliantly to life at Anfield following a big money move from Southampton in 2015, and has made himself a regular in the England set-up.

Clyne is excellent both offensively and defensively, and he’d walk straight into the United team ahead of both Valencia and Darmian.

Philippe Coutinho

Even if it looks like there’s no room in the Manchester United midfield for Philippe Coutinho, he would walk straight into it.

He is one of the best players in the Premier League, and he is usually the focal point when Liverpool are playing well.

Light on his feet, quick, and full of energy, he’s capable of threading balls through defensive lines, such is his incredible awareness and technical ability, and also has a keen eye for goal.

The Brazilian has already netted four times this season in all competitions, and he’s playing well enough to surpass last season’s tally of 12, his best since arriving at Anfield.

Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane was a player Manchester United were linked with during the summer, but it was the Merseyside club that got a deal done for the Southampton forward.

And they are certainly reaping the rewards from their £34m investment.

We all know what the 24-year-old can do, he showed it regularly during his two-year stint at St Mary’s, but it’s the way he has adapted to life at Anfield which is particularly impressive, as he is beginning to play better now than he did on the South Coast.

He netted the Reds’ crucial fourth in their win at Arsenal on the opening weekend, and has since added two more to his tally.

United, even with their loaded attacking force, appear to be missing some sort of spark at the moment – Mane would certainly provide that.
