3 players Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta could sign after Community Shield victory

Arsenal lifted their second trophy at Wembley in August after beating Premier League winners Liverpool on penalties.

In what was another positive performance under boss Mikel Arteta, the Gunners backed up their FA Cup victory against Chelsea earlier in the month with another win under the arch.

The triumph will give the North London added confidence heading into the 2020/21 season where they will expect to improve on their eighth-placed finish of last term.

Arteta has already bolstered his squad this summer with the additions of Willian, and permanent deals for Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari.

But, following their Community Shield win, who else could be moving to the Emirates? Here’s three players who have been linked with Arsenal in recent days…

Said Benrahma

90min report that Arteta is plotting a swoop for Brentford star Said Benrahma. The attacking midfielder has starred for the Bees in the last two campaigns, registering 28 goals and 27 assists for the Championship outfit. This has attracted interest from numerous Premier League clubs with Chelsea, West Ham, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Leeds all linked. But now it’s claimed that the Gunners are ready to meet the Algerian’s £25m asking price.

David Raya

The same 90min report claims that Arsenal also want to sign Benrahma’s teammate David Raya. The goalkeeper played 46 Championship games last term after signing from Blackburn Rovers, helping the Bees reach the play-off final. It’s thought that the Spaniard, 24, is being lined up as a potential replacement for Emiliano Martinez who, despite impressing in recent months, has been linked with a move away.

Amadou Diawara

Tuttomercatoweb, via the Evening Standard report that Arsenal are keen on signing Amadou Diawara. The AS Roma midfielder only moved to the Italian capital from Napoli last summer and made 30 appearances in his debut campaign. However, it’s claimed that the Guinea international could be on the move once again, with his agent Daniele Piraino confirming the Gunners’ interest.
