3 Players Manchester United could sign before the transfer window closes on Monday

United boss Solskjaer is under more pressure than ever before.

After a promising end to the 2019/20 Premier League season, Manchester United fans were excited at the prospect of possibly closing the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool this season.

However, performances so far this term have not done anything to suggest that they will be able to challenge their rivals over a long season.

An opening day defeat at home to Crystal Palace was followed up with a fortunate last-gasp 3-2 win at Brighton.

More surprising than the Red Devils’ below-par showings is their lack of activity in the transfer market.

Van de Beek is the United’s only new arrival this summer.

With the window shutting on Monday October 5th at 11pm, the Old Trafford club have brought in just Donny van de Beek from Ajax.

United have been linked with numerous names throughout the past few months but, with just two days to go, here’s three players Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could add to his squad before the deadline…

Lucas Ocampos

Reports by ESPN claim that Manchester United are weighing up a move for Sevilla forward Lucas Ocampos. The 26-year-old scored a career-best 17 goals in all competitions last term as he helped the Spanish side win the Europa League. It’s claimed that the representatives from United have been keeping a close eye on the Argentine. Sevilla would reportedly be willing to sell the player they signed from Marseille a year ago but only if they got an offer in the region of £36.2million.

Jadon Sancho

It will be no surprise to see Jadon Sancho on this list as it’s no secret that he’s been United’s top transfer target throughout the summer. According to Sky Sports, the Red Devils had a £91.3million offer turned down by Borussia Dortmund last week as they seek £108million for the 20-year-old. It’s believed United will make a final push to try and sign the England international before the deadline and Sky Sports pundit, Jame Redknapp, believes they will eventually get their man.

Luka Jovic

According to Gianluca di Marzio, United want a new striker and are exploring a possible loan move for Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic. The Serbia international was signed by Madrid in the summer of 2019 after netting 27 times for Frankfurt in the previous season. However, despite costing around £52.4million, the 22-year-old has struggled at the Bernabeu, scoring twice and making just eight starts. It’s thought the Red Devils are looking at the centre-forward as they are wary that Odion Ighalo’s loan from Shanghai Shenhua expires at the end of January.
