3 Players Tottenham Hotspur could sign before the transfer window closes on Monday

Jose Mourinho his slowly stamping his mark on Tottenham Hotspur’s squad.

In his first summer transfer window since taking charge back in November 2019, the Portuguese has brought in a flurry of new faces.

Gareth Bale has returned to the club on a season-long loan from Real Madrid in one of the most eye-catching moves of the window.

Meanwhile, Mourinho has also added the likes of Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Carlos Vinicius, Joe Hart and Sergio Reguilon.

Reguilon arrived from Sevilla.

But with the aim to improve on last season’s sixth placed finish and challenge for a first trophy since 2008, both Jose and the fans will still be hoping for more arrivals before Monday’s 11pm deadline.

So, with just over 24 hours to go, here’s three players Spurs could add to their squad before the window slams shut…

Milan Skriniar

According to the Mirror, Tottenham are pushing for a deal to sign Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar. Mourinho is looking to add a defender to his squad and it’s claimed that his top target is the Slovakia international. Inter have reportedly placed a £45million price-tag on their 25-year-old. It’s suggested that Spurs feel that valuation is too high but that they are trying to negotiate with the Italian club. The North London side are also thought to be looking to offload current players – such as Danny Rose – before Monday’s deadline in order to make more room on the wage bill for Skriniar.

Antonio Ruidger

Reports in The Athletic claim that Tottenham are targeting a loan move for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger. The German has fallen down the pecking order under boss Frank Lampard this term and has yet to be included in a matchday squad. Rudiger’s situation has reportedly caught the attention of Spurs who are looking for a defender. It’s claimed that the 27-year-old, who’s also thought to be interesting Barcelona, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma would prefer to make a loan move across London. However, a real stumbling block could prove to be the fact that Tottenham and Chelsea simply do not get involved with transfer business which each other.

Juan Jesus

Speaking on the on the Transfer Window podcast, Sunday Times and Daily Record journalist Duncan Castles claims purs have been offered AS Roma defender Juan Jesus. The 29-year-old has plenty of top-level experience having played a combined 233 matches for his current side and Inter Milan over the past 2011. However, the Brazilian made just five appearances in all competitions last term due to injury and competition for places at the Serie A side. It’s claimed that Roma would want around £7.2million for Jesus and that Tottenham are seeing him as an option if they fail to land other targets.
