Thursday night, will see Scotland play one of the biggest game in their recent history as they take on Serbia with the winner qualifying for Euro 2021.

If the Scots were to take victory, they will qualify for their first major tournament since the World Cup 1998, over 20 years ago.

After coming through a dramatic semi final against Israel on penalties last month, Steve Clarke’s side have put themselves in a good position to make it to the Euros in June.

The Tartan Army, suffered a major blow against Israel has three key players, Ryan Christie, Stuart Armstrong and Kieran Tierney had to miss the game due to Coronavirus.

No such problems stand in there way this week though, so we pick out three performing Scots who will be vital for the country’s qualification hopes on Thursday.

3. Stuart Armstrong

Some Scotland fans might see this first pick as a strange call, as Armstrong may not start the game in Serbia. However, at international level, form is so important. The pacy attacker is in flying form for Southampton, scoring against the Newcastle United in the Premier League at the weekend and looking a constant threat. If Armstrong doesn’t start the match, he is almost certain to get some minutes and we’re backing him to have a big impact on the game.

2. John McGinn

One player that there are no doubts that he’ll be starting the match is, Aston Villa man John McGinn. The midfielder is an integral part of this Scotland set-up and certainly makes the Tartan Army tick from an attacking perspective but all round the park too. There is a lot of pressure on the 26-year-olds shoulders as it’s often the case that if he doesn’t play well, the team as a whole struggle too. If anyone is going to take Scotland to Euro 2021 it’s the uber-talented McGinn.

1. Lyndon Dykes

The man tasked to score the goals on Thursday night is likely to be Queen’s Park Rangers summer signing Lyndon Dykes. The goal-scoring striker has bagged two goals in his last five matches for Scotland and clearly enjoys playing for his country. It may well be the case, that Dykes does not see that much of the ball, for large periods against Serbia, but when a chance does come his way, he will backing himself to take it!
