3 reasons Isco should choose Man United over Tottenham

Spain international Isco is reportedly unhappy at Real Madrid, with his lack of first team football in recent months likely to be the reason.

The 24-year-old moved to the Spanish capital back in 2013, making his way from Malaga alongside manager Manuel Pellegrini, who took over at the Bernabeu the same summer.

Isco was a feature in the Madrid team in his first season at the club, and netted eight times in 45 appearances.

However, he has fallen down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane, and now looks set to end his three-year stint at the Bernabeu.

Manchester United and Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for the playmaker, but here are THREE reasons why he should choose United over Tottenham…

A chance to play for United

Not many clubs can say they have the same standing in the global game as Manchester United, in the same way that there aren’t many clubs that are not a downward step when leaving Real Madrid.

The chance to work under one of the best managers in the world, alongside some of the best players in the world, would surely be too good an opportunity to turn down.

Isco could be part of the next great Manchester United side if he makes the move to Old Trafford this season.

Favourite role

The Real Madrid man is being eyed up as a potential long-term replacement for Wayne Rooney and, if he goes on to have a similar career at Old Trafford to the England captain, then United fans will want this deal done as soon as possible.

He was outstanding for Malaga in the number 10 role, and that’s what earned him a move to Madrid back in 2013.

His creativity and agility in that role set up numerous opportunities and, with someone like Zlatan Ibrahimovic in front of him, if he did the same again at United then there would certainly be someone to score them.

United have missed that spark at times this season – Isco would certainly provide that.

Spanish contingent

David De Gea, Juan Mata and Ander Herrara are all on the books at Old Trafford, and seeing players who he has played with in the past may help Isco decide to move to Manchester.

At 24 years of age, he is still young and, given that he has only ever played in Spain before, a move to England would be a big deal, especially with the pressure that would come with such a move.

Yet, familiar faces at the club would help him settle in and produce his best form for a United side going in search of a 21st league title.
