Manchester City travel to Premier League champions Leicester City on Saturday hoping to bounce back after last weekend’s disappointing defeat against Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola’s side lost 3-1 to the league leaders at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, which was their first home league defeat of the campaign.

It was a result which saw them fall four points behind the Blues at the top, and also slip to fourth in the Premier League table.

Nonetheless, no side has picked up more points away from home than City, who go into Saturday’s clash at the King Power Stadium having won six of their last seven away league games, and they’ll need to be at their best to beat the champions on their home turf.

Claudio Ranieri’s side have struggled in their title defence thus far, but they have only lost once at home in the league this season, and have won all three of their Champions League games at the King Power Stadium.

However, the Foxes go into this one off the back of a 5-0 thumping at FC Porto on Wednesday, and Ranieri will need to rouse his troops ahead of a tricky encounter on Saturday.

With the build-up well underway ahead of Saturday’s clash, here are THREE reasons why City will pick up a fourth straight away league win this weekend…

Well-rested after Chelsea defeat

Guardiola made several changes to his side ahead of their draw with Celtic in the Champions League on Tuesday, with the likes of John Stones, Kevin De Bruyne, and David Silva all not involved.

Suspensions to Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero means that the likes of Fernando and Kelechi Iheanacho, both of whom started on Tuesday, may come into the side on Saturday but, for the most part, the players who’ll start at the weekend will have had a week’s rest.

The Chelsea defeat would have taken a lot out of the City side, especially with how well they played in the first half, but many will be fresh ahead of their visit to the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Best away form in Premier League

Although they have yet to win away in the Champions League this season, City have picked up more points on the road than any other Premier League side.

Guardiola’s men have won six of their seven away league games, and they’ve won their last three on the road at West Brom, Crystal Palace, and Burnley.

Their only defeat came at Tottenham, but prior to that they had beaten Stoke, Manchester United, and Swansea, so they clearly know how to get results away from home.

Leicester’s home form is pretty good, but it’s not as good as City’s away form, and Guardiola will certainly sense an opportunity to get back to winning ways on Saturday.

Need to bounce back

City’s 3-1 defeat against Chelsea last weekend was their first home loss of the league season, and only their second defeat in the league thus far.

Guardiola’s men played well in the first half and could quite easily have been out of sight come half-time, but they’ll be disappointed with how easily they let the Blues back into the game second half.

The result saw them fall four points behind Antonio Conte’s men at the top, and City know that they need to bounce back and put things right this weekend.

Without Aguero and Fernandinho, they’ll have to show their character to go to the Premier League champions and come away with a result.
