3 things to look out for in Everton v Crystal Palace

Sky Sports’ latest incarnation, Friday Night Football, returns to our screens this evening as Ronald Koeman and his Everton side play hosts to Crystal Palace.

The blue half of Merseyside have made a flying start to the season under the former Southampton boss, however, they came unstuck on the South Coast last season, losing 1-0 to Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side, thanks to another Junior Stanislas goal against the Toffees.

The visitors make the trip to Goodison Park off the back of three Premier League wins on the trot, with just an EFL Cup loss to an in-form Southampton blotting their recent form card.

Unlike some of the teams around them, neither side had a European distraction in the week, and therefore we can expect a hotly contested clash in the North West under the lights.

With that in mind, here are THREE things to look out for going into the game at Goodison Park…

Resurgent Ronald

The Dutch manager does not take his sides short comings lightly, and therefore will not want to see more of the same from last weekend’s defeat.

You can expect to see his side well drilled and fired up ready to retaliate and get back to winning ways at home against Pardew’s side.

When these two are at their best there aren’t many better at putting the ball in the back of the net. If the game gets going early you can expect both Romelu Lukakau and Christian Benteke to have quite the say in proceedings.

The pair have 117 Premier League goals between them and, despite the former Aston Villa man having a tough year at Anfield, it would be a surprise if neither notched on the other side of Stanley Park this evening.

Goals, Goals, Goals

It’s not just the Belgian pairing that can grab goals, both sides have plenty of outlets if they need a goal, and therefore you can expect this to be a feisty one.

Ronald Koeman has solidified the Everton defence, however, going into the game, The Eagles have conceded in their last 11 league outings, so we should see some fireworks.
