Chelsea are looking to loan out more of their academy starlets during the forthcoming January transfer window, according to Blues Under 23 and Under-21 boss Adi Viveash, via Goal.
The Premier League side, who climbed up to second in the top-flight standings following their fifth successive league win at the weekend, their 5-0 hammering of Everton at Stamford Bridge, already have 38 players out on loan this season.
However, Viveash revealed that The Blues are likely to seal further temporary outgoings in the new year.
Chelsea already have more loanees than any other British football club as they look to aid their youngsters’ development with first-team football in the senior game, with the likes of Tammy Abraham (Pictured) starring at Championship outfit Bristol City.
“We have a couple from this group that in January will probably be looking [to move on loan] at the older end,” said Viveash after his side’s 13-12 penalty shootout victory over Oxford United in the Checkatrade Trophy in midweek.
“The reality is, that when you go out there it is what you do and Tammy, you could have envisaged Tammy hitting the ground running, but what Tammy has is a massive enthusiasm for the game.
“He just loves playing football and he loves scoring goals and you can see that by the goals he scores.
“We have reminded him that most of them are tap-ins but it doesn’t really matter. He is a nice kid Tammy and he will be learning a lot about Championship defenders.”
