You’ve got to go back 754 days to the last time Jack Wilshere completed a full 90 minutes for either club or country.

He was in the red of Arsenal as they went down 2-1 at home to Southampton in the League Cup on 23rd September 2014, and was part of a Gunners side that included Abou Diaby, Lukas Podolski, and Tomas Rosicky.

The 24-year-old started but once again failed to see out the game as Bournemouth thrashed Hull City 6-1 at the weekend, meaning that the England international has now started four consecutive Premier League games for the Cherries, but hasn’t completed any of them.

A lot can happen in 754 days, so here at Shoot! we have found FIVE things that have happened since the 23rd September 2014…

14 of the current Premier League clubs have a different manager

Of the 20 teams currently in the Premier League, only six have the same manager as they did just over two years ago.

Two of these are sides who have been promoted this season in Middlesbrough and Burnley, while North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are still managed by Arsene Wenger and Mauricio Pochettino respectively.

Howe at Bournemouth and Mark Hughes at Stoke City make up the six strong list, once again highlighting the decreasing shelf-life of a Premier League manager.

Joe Root has scored 2,273 Test Match runs

In the cricketing world, Yorkshire batsman Joe Root has gone from strength to strength.

From being dropped for England’s fifth and final Test against Australia in Sydney back in January 2014, the 25-year-old has scored 2,273 runs in 24 test matches, which is an average of 57.9.

With five centuries, 15 half-centuries, and a highest score of 254, Root is now regarded as one of the best batsmen in world cricket, and it’s all happened in the last two years.

Aston Villa have reached an FA Cup Final, been relegated, and seen three managers come and go

Aston Villa have had a turbulent time since Wilshere’s last 90 minutes.

They reached the FA Cup final under Tim Sherwood in 2014, just two weeks after retaining their Premier League status.

However, what followed the season after was nothing short of a disaster, with three wins and just 17 points condemning them to relegation from the top-flight.

Paul Lambert, Sherwood, Remi Garde, Roberto di Matteo, and now Steve Bruce have all been in the Villa hot-seat since September 2014, as the Birmingham-based club continue their struggle in the Championship.

David Cameron has been re-elected as Prime Minister, served for a year, and resigned as both PM and an MP

It’s not just sport which has seen a lot happen in the last two years. So has politics.

The Conservatives won a majority in the 2015 General Election under David Cameron, enabling the Prime Minister to embark on another five years as leader of the country.

However, it’s all changed in the last 12 months, with Cameron serving for a year before resigning as a result of the United Kingdom’s decision to leave the European Union. He has also resigned as an MP in recent weeks.

Since Wilshere’s last 90 minutes, Cameron has gone from being the leader of the country to non-existent on the political landscape.

Southampton have received almost £100m from player sales

The summer of 2014 saw Southampton receive big money for Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, and Dejan Lovren, amounting to almost £100 million.

Just when you thought that they couldn’t keep developing high-quality players, they’ve earned that again in the last two years from selling the likes of Nathaniel Clyne and Morgan Schneiderlin in 2015, as well as Sadio Mane, Graziano Pelle, and Victor Wanyama earlier this year.

Despite selling their prized assets, the Saints have recorded finishes of sixth and seventh in the last two seasons, and are embarking on their first European campaign in 12 years under new manager Claude Puel.
