Newcastle United secured a much needed victory as they defeated in-form Liverpool 2-0 at St James’ Park on Sunday.
It was a much improved display from the each player in the Magpies team to the one that were thrashed 5-1 at Crystal Palace eight days before, but we’ve opted for match winner Georginio Wijnaldum as the star man.
The Dutchman showed more desire than in recent weeks and came up with the two telling moments, an assist and a goal, as Steve McClaren’s side secured just a third win of the season.
