AFC Bournemouth: 3 crucial games in the Cherries’ Premier League run-in

Newcastle United (A) – March 5

Back-to-back league defeats have dropped AFC Bournemouth right back into the relegation dogfight, with the Cherries slipping to 15th place and just four points above the drop zone. But their next big test and best chance of aiding their survival bid will be beating fellow strugglers Newcastle United at St James’ Park early next month, with the Magpies dithering in the bottom three.

Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth have lost back-to-back Premier League games against Arsenal and Stoke City recently.

Aston Villa (A) – April 9

Then as we go into April; if they haven’t already fallen short of their own survival mission, then Eddie Howe’s side could nail another coffin into Aston Villa’s free falling campaign as the Villans look destined to be competing in the Championship next term. All three points for Bournemouth is a must for the visitors at Villa Park.

West Brom (H) – May 7

And lastly; but not least, in the penultimate round of Premier League fixtures, Howe’s men would love to secure their top-flight status a week early ahead of their final day trip to Manchester United with an encouraging result against West Brom, who themselves are only 14th in the standings and not guaranteed of survival this term.
