Arsenal and Liverpool ready to pounce for international striker if Real Madrid activate £24m buy-back clause

Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly been handed a boost in their pursuits of Spain international Alvaro Morata this summer, according to The Sun.

The Premier League duo, who currently sit third and ninth in the English top-flight standings respectively with only seven to eight games remaining, have both been linked with moves for the Juventus striker once the 2015-16 campaign has concluded.

The 23-year-old, who has seven international caps for his country and is expected to feature for Spain at Euro 2016 later this year, has scored ten goals and provided eight assists in 40 appearances in all competitions for the defending Serie A champions so far this season.

Morata, who arrived in Turin from La Liga giants Real Madrid back in July 2014 in a deal worth around €20m, is likely to return to the Bernabeu this summer as Zinedine Zidane’s side have a £24m buy-back clause on the Spaniard’s current contract.

But the report then suggests that Madrid could offload Morata to the highest bidder, with both the Gunners and Reds eager to recruit the forward.
