Manchester United earned their second Premier League win of the season on Sunday as they defeated Chelsea 2-1.

Chelsea found themselves at a disadvantage within the first five minutes when goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was sent off for bringing down Bryan Mbeumo and denying the Cameroonian a goal-scoring opportunity.

Shortly after, the hosts went in front at Old Trafford when Bruno Fernandes tapped home from close range.

Veteran midfielder Casemiro then doubled the hosts’ advantage before being shown a second yellow card in first-half added time, meaning it was ten against ten for the second period.

Despite numerical parity, Chelsea were unable to find the back of the net and manager Enzo Maresca had already withdrawn Estevao Willian, Pedro Neto and Cole Palmer in the first-half.

Trevoh Chalobah did eventually find the net for the visitors late on, but the centre-back’s late header wasn’t enough to earn Maresca side a point and they instead suffered their first league defeat of the season and their second loss in a week.

Off the pitch, it has now emerged that United are interested in a La Liga midfielder.

As reported by Spanish outlet Fichajes via CaughtOffside, Man United are one of a number of Premier League sides interested in Athletic Club’s Oihan Sancet.

The report claims that North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the 25-year-old, who has impressed for Athletic over the past couple of seasons.

The attacking midfielder joined Athletic’s youth system in 2015 and has since progressed through the ranks and into the first team.

He has now featured 198 times for the Bilbao side across all competitions, scoring 43 goals and providing 18 assists.

His performances haven’t gone unnoticed, though, and Spurs, United and the Gunners are all said to be monitoring the Spain international’s situation.

Despite the interest in the player, the report suggests that the La Liga giants may insist that his release clause – of around £70 million – is activated in order to allow him to leave.
