England get their World Cup campaign underway when they face Croatia in Texas on Wednesday evening.

The Three Lions were beaten by the Croatians in the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup, but got the better of them in the opening match of their Euro 2020 campaign.

Wednesday’s game will also mark Thomas Tuchel’s first game in charge of England at a major tournament, and there is huge pressure on the German and his staff to get off to a strong start.

Tuchel made several big decisions when selecting his squad for this summer’s tournament, with Cole Palmer and Phil Foden among the most notable absentees.

Now, another player who was controversially left out of the squad appears to be at the centre of huge interest from rival clubs.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Arsenal and Manchester United are among a number of Premier League clubs interested in Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

The 26-year-old finished last season in scintillating form for Forest, six goals and registering two assists in his final five appearances of the Premier League campaign.

Despite that, the Englishman was overlooked by Tuchel when selecting his 26-man squad for the World Cup in North America, with Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rogers preferred.

The report claims that Gibbs-White has attracted significant interest from several clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Having joined Forest from Wolves back in 2022, Gibbs-White has since made more than 170 appearances for his current side, scoring 36 goals and providing 35 assists.

Gibbs-White is under contract at The City Ground until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but the report appears to suggest that Forest may receive offers for the player during this summer’s window.

Forest, however, are prepared to stand firm and are understandably reluctant to allow the Englishman to depart.
