The Premier League side, who finished eighth in the English top-flight standings this campaign, despite reaching the 2016 UEFA Europa League final, have been linked with a move for Napoli’s star striker ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 term.

The 28-year-old, who has 57 international caps for his country, scored a remarkable 38 goals and provided three assists in 42 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit this season.

Higuain, who set a new Italian top-flight record (Serie A) with 36 strikes in just 35 league games, is reportedly ready to quit Napoli this summer.

But despite the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United also being interested in the forward’s services, the Argentine ace wants to work with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp at Anfield according to reports, who is set to overhaul his Liverpool strikeforce over the next few months.
