Arsenal are reportedly ready to make a January move for Southampton star Victor Wanyama.

The Premier League outfit, who currently sit second in the standings behind surprise league leaders Leicester City at Christmas, have been long-term admirers of the Kenya international midfielder.

The 24-year-old, who arrived at Saints from Celtic for a reported fee of £12.5m back in July 2013, has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Ronald Koeman’s side so far this season.

With fellow midfielders Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin currently sidelined with long-term injuries, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen on sealing the transfer of Wanyama in the New Year to ease his injury woes.
