Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger “would be very, very keen” on becoming England manager

Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger would be interested in becoming England manager, according to French football expert Julien Laurens.
The 68-year-old will end a near 22-year reign at the Premier League club at the end of the season, having been appointed Gunners manager back in October 1996.
Wenger will depart the Emirates Stadium upon the conclusion of the current 2017-18 campaign, a year before his contract was due to expire.
The Frenchman, who previously managed Nancy, AS Monaco and Nagoya Grampus, has won 17 honours at Arsenal – three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups and seven FA Community Shields.

Speaking on the Euro Leagues Football Show, journalist Julien Lauren believes the Gunners great would be interested in managing the England national team one day.
He believes the Arsenal boss will not take another club job, but taking over a “big country with a good project” would interest Wenger.
Laurens said, “I don’t see him taking another club, that is what I have pretty much been told as well.
“However, a national team might be something that interests him, a big country with a good project.
“Maybe England. He would be very, very keen on the England job, for example, one day.”
