Arsenal have completed the signing of midfielder Christian Norgaard from London rivals Brentford.
The Gunners announced on Thursday morning that they had signed the Dane from the Bees, with the midfielder becoming their third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi.
Norgaard, 31, had spent six years with Brentford after signing from Italian side Fiorentina in 2019.
During his time in West London, the midfielder made 196 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 18 assists.

Norgaard helped the Bees achieve promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history back in 2021, and has since played a key role as Thomas Frank cemented their place as an established top flight club.
Last season the Denmark international played 35 times for the Bees, featuring in 34 of their 38 Premier League games as Frank’s side briefly challenged for European qualification before ultimately falling short.
Frank has since left Brentford to take charge of Tottenham Hotspur, and the duo will be reunited when the North London derby takes place in November.
Arsenal confirmed that the midfielder will were the number 16 shirt during the upcoming season.
Both Jorginho and Thomas Partey had left The Emirates since the end of last season, and the Gunners have bolstered Arteta’s squad with the signings of both Zubimendi and now Norgaard.
The Dane primarily plays as a defensive midfielder but is also capable of operating in a slightly more advanced central midfield role.
