Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has reportedly put any contract talks on hold until after Euro 2016, amid interest from Bayern Munich, according to the Sun.

The Germany international has two years remaining on his deal with the Gunners, but manager Arsene Wenger is keen to tie down the 27-year-old to a new long-term contract.

However, the playmaker says he doesn’t want any distractions before the European Championships in France, which start in less than a fortnight’s time, causing concern among the hierarchy that he wants to leave the Emirates because of the club’s failure to regularly challenge for trophies.

That news has alerted Bayern, with Ozil potentially keen on making a return to the Bundesliga, where he played for Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen before making the move to Spain with Real Madrid in 2010.

Ozil, who cost Arsenal £42.5m in 2013, has scored 20 goals in 117 appearances in all competitions for the club, and finished the Premier League season with 19 assists.
